# Talk to your finances from *your AI assistant*

The Frenzeo MCP server connects your account to Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Gemini and Grok. Look up accounts and spending, analyze budgets and debts, and record transactions, lists and invoice drafts just by chatting.

## Requirements

- A [Frenzeo](https://frenzeo.com) account. Works from the Free plan.
- **Cloud sync** turned on for the spaces you want to use. To create or edit, the space must sync and your role must be Owner or Editor.
- An assistant that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth: Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Claude Code, Gemini or Grok.

This is the server address; it is the same for every user and assistant:

### Claude  _(Web · Desktop · Mobile)_

1. Open **Settings → Connectors**.
2. Find **Frenzeo** in the [Claude connectors directory](https://claude.ai/directory/connectors/frenzeo), or choose **Add custom connector** and paste the server address.
3. Click **Connect**.
4. Sign in with your Frenzeo account, pick the spaces to share, decide whether to allow creating and editing, and click **Connect Frenzeo**.
5. In a chat, enable Frenzeo from the tools menu.

### ChatGPT  _(Web · Desktop · Mobile)_

1. Open **Settings → Apps**.
2. Find **Frenzeo** or, if it is not listed yet, turn on **developer mode** under *Advanced* and create an app with the server address and **OAuth** authentication.
3. Sign in with your Frenzeo account, pick spaces and permissions, and click **Connect Frenzeo**.
4. In the chat, pick Frenzeo from the **+** button or mention it in your message.

### Codex  _(CLI · IDE)_

Add the server and sign in:

Open Gemini CLI and run `/mcp auth frenzeo` to sign in. Use `/mcp` to see the available tools.

### Grok  _(Web)_

1. Go to **grok.com** → **Settings → Connectors**.
2. Click **New connector → Custom** and paste the server address.
3. Sign in with your Frenzeo account, pick spaces and permissions, and click **Connect Frenzeo**.

## Permissions when connecting

On the connection screen you decide, for each assistant:

- **Which spaces it can see.** The assistant only sees the spaces you select, with your same role.
- **Whether it can create and edit.** It is **off** by default: without it, the assistant can only read. Turn it on to record transactions, create lists or prepare invoice drafts.

To change your choice, disconnect Frenzeo in the assistant and connect it again.

## What you can ask

Frenzeo data is in Spanish, but you can ask in any language.

### Look up

- “How much money do I have in each account?”
- “Which categories did I spend the most on this month?”
- “How much did I pay for electricity in the last three months?”
- “Which payments are due this week?”
- “Show me my grocery list and what's left to buy.”

### Analyze  _(Student+)_

- “How am I doing with my budgets? Can I afford a $40 treat?”
- “Did I spend more than last month? On what?”
- “How much do I owe in total and how much of my cards am I using?”
- “What's my net worth?”
- “Which services do I invoice the most?”

### Create and edit  _(With permission)_

- “I spent $12.50 on lunch with my Banco General card.”
- “Move $200 from Banco General to Savings.”
- “Create a list for a party for 20 people with estimated prices.”
- “Split the $86.40 Súper 99 purchase into its products.”
- “Change the note on my last expense to ‘Mom's gift’.”
- “Draft an invoice for Café Luna for 10 hours of design at $35.”

## Tools

The assistant picks the right tool for what you ask. There are 22 tools in three groups.

### Look up  _(All plans)_

- **My plan and quota** — `mi_plan` · Your plan, remaining calls and writes, shared spaces and whether the assistant can create. Doesn't use quota.
- **My spaces** — `mis_espacios` · Spaces shared with the assistant, your role and whether you can edit.
- **Accounts and balances** — `mis_cuentas` · Accounts with type, balance and currency.
- **My categories** — `mis_categorias` · System and custom categories, by group.
- **Search transactions** — `buscar_movimientos` · By date, type, account, category, amount or note. Shows if a transaction was created from an assistant.
- **Spending and income summary** — `resumen_financiero` · Period totals by group, category or account, split by currency.
- **My budgets** — `mis_presupuestos` · Active budgets with limit, period and alert.
- **My savings goals** — `mis_metas` · Target, saved, remaining and date.
- **Upcoming payments** — `proximos_pagos` · Subscriptions, utilities, installments and recurring income.
- **My lists** — `mis_listas` · Lists with items, quantities, prices, checked items and provider (name, link and image).

### Advanced insights  _(Student, Pro and Ultra Pro)_

- **Budget progress** — `progreso_presupuestos` · Spent, available and status of each budget in its current period.
- **Compare periods** — `comparar_periodos` · This month vs last (or other periods) and the groups that changed most.
- **My debts** — `mis_deudas` · Cards, loans and payables or receivables, with credit usage and due day.
- **Net worth** — `patrimonio_neto` · Assets, liabilities and net worth by currency.
- **Invoicing stats** — `estadisticas_facturas` · Invoiced, collected and outstanding by month, plus top items. Aggregated data only.

### Create and edit  _(Requires permission when connecting)_

- **Record a transaction** — `registrar_movimiento` · Expense, income or transfer between your accounts in the same space. Category required; warns about likely duplicates.
- **Edit note or date** — `editar_movimiento` · Changes only the note or date. Never amounts, accounts or categories.
- **Split into items** — `dividir_movimiento` · Breaks an expense or income into items. The sum must match the total, so the balance doesn't change.
- **Create a list** — `crear_lista` · Shopping, gifts, home, travel, project or custom, with items and a provider for each.
- **Add to a list** — `agregar_articulos_lista` · Adds items with quantity, price, provider, link and image.
- **Check items** — `marcar_articulos` · Checks or unchecks items as bought or done.
- **Invoice draft** — `crear_borrador_factura` · Prepares a draft with client, items, discounts and tax. You review and issue it in the app.

## What the assistant never does

- **It never deletes** transactions, accounts or any other data.
- **It never changes amounts, accounts or categories** of an existing transaction.
- **It never issues or sends invoices**, it only prepares drafts. It doesn't export individual invoices or client data either.
- **It never creates spaces or invites people.**
- **It never signs or accepts person-to-person agreements** (P2P loans or debts) on your behalf.
- **It never uses features from a higher plan**: tax, multi-currency and advanced insights follow your plan's rules.

Anything an assistant creates shows up in the app marked with its origin (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.).

## Limits by plan

Quotas are **per user account** and shared across all your assistants and spaces, owned or shared with you. A call is each time the assistant uses a tool; one question may use several.

- **Each action counts as 1 write**, no matter how many items it has: recording a transaction, creating a list with 30 items, checking items or creating an invoice draft.
- Calls reset every day and writes on the 1st of each month, at 00:00 UTC.
- If an action fails or the server warns you about a possible duplicate, no quota is used.
- App limits still apply, for example how many lists or items the space owner's plan allows.
- Premium features depend on the **space owner's plan**, as in the app: tax and multi-currency.

## Security and privacy

- You sign in with your own account using **OAuth 2.1** and explicitly approve access.
- Only Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Gemini and Grok can connect. Any other app is blocked on the connection page and on the server.
- The assistant only sees the spaces you shared, with your same role. Database security rules prevent access to anyone else's data.
- Frenzeo doesn't keep copies of what the assistant reads. It only logs usage (tool, platform and date) for quotas, for 30 days.

**Important:** what the assistant reads is sent to the AI provider you chose (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or xAI) and is governed by its privacy policy. Assistants can make mistakes; Frenzeo does not provide financial, tax or investment advice.

## Disconnect or revoke access

- **From the Frenzeo app:** Settings → Connected assistants → pick the assistant → Disconnect.
- **Claude:** Settings → Connectors → Frenzeo → Disconnect.
- **ChatGPT:** Settings → Apps → Frenzeo → Disconnect.
- **Codex:** `codex mcp logout frenzeo` · **Claude Code:** `claude mcp remove frenzeo`
- **Gemini CLI:** remove the server from `settings.json` · **Grok:** remove the connector from its settings.

## FAQ

**I can't see my transactions.**

Turn on cloud sync for that space in the app and wait for it to finish. Also check that you shared that space when connecting.

**The assistant says it only has read access.**

You didn't turn on **Allow creating and editing** when connecting. Disconnect Frenzeo in your assistant and connect again with it turned on.

**Why does it ask me for a category?**

A category is required so your reports and budgets stay accurate. The assistant suggests the closest ones.

**Balances don't reflect a transaction I just created.**

The app recalculates balances when it syncs. Open Frenzeo and the balance updates instantly.

**I reached my limit.**

Calls reset daily and writes monthly. If you need more, [level up your plan](https://frenzeo.com/planes).

**The connection page says the request expired.**

Click **Connect** again in your assistant; each attempt creates a new link.
